THAT’S DISGUSTING

Commercials that feature DRINKING SPIT FROM SOMEONE’S MOUTH do not encourage me in any way to buy the product.

Forgiveness isn’t that easy.

So on Sunday I was watching 60 Minutes at the parents’ house, and they ran a story about a man who was sentenced to be put to death for murdering a woman because he was, at the time, judged fit for trial. But they are trying to earn him an appeal because he’s fairly insane now, and there’s ample evidence that he was insane at the time, too, and the attorneys just never argued for it.They interviewed the woman’s sister, who after all this time was, of course, still upset about it.

Sister: But I know I should forgive him. It is the Christian way to be forgiving.
Interviewer: But you still think he should be put to death?
Sister: Yes, I still think he should die for what he did.

*headdesk*

I think when she said “Christian” she meant “hypocrite.” Jesus isn’t presumed to have said “Forgive them, for they know not what they do, but please strike ‘em down anyway, ’cause I’m real pissed right now.”

>O The desire for vengeance is only human, and I can’t blame her for that, but please don’t think you’re being forgiving and Christ-like at the same time.
